@ HORUS Scholars

We Build Opportunities

We Change Mindsets

Our mission is to educate high school students about their college and trade options with a unique focus on helping them and their families navigate how to finance their chosen option. We change mindsets, especially among first generation students who do not think they can afford college or a trade program.

Our Fairs Deliver Results

In collaboration with our partners last season, the 20 fairs were attended by over 8,000 students and their families. The participating colleges and trades programs awarded over $100 million in scholarships, proving to the students and parents that they can afford a college or trades program education and graduate debt-free.

Scholarships Awarded

68% of students who attend our Scholarship Fairs receive at least one scholarship from a participating college or trade program. Most receive multiple scholarships with the average being 5 with an average total dollar amount of $102,000. We change mindsets that you do not need a 4.0 GPA or a perfect ACT score to earn a scholarship.

We Build Knowledge

71% of students and 86% of parents reported that they learned something new about financial aid, government programs, and private scholarships. We change mindsets of students and parents who thought it would be difficult to afford a college of trades program education.

“At the HORUS Scholars fair in Washington DC, I met with representatives of the carpenters union. After graduation I will be working with a construction company for pay while I work to get my training (and they will cover the cost of my training too!) ”

Jonathan

“At the HORUS Scholars College, Trades, and Scholarship fair in Tampa, I received over $300,000 in scholarship offers at 8 different colleges.”
